Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking a business trip with a family that represents the epitome of success in all measures. While I was waiting for our flight, one of the employees came up and said “Who are you flying with today?” When I told them they said, “That is the nicest family. We are all big fans.”
Later that day I had lunch with another one of their employees who said the exact same thing. He told me a story of a time that he had to miss a barbecue at the last minute because he wasn’t feeling well. An hour later they drove all the way to his house to deliver a plate of food for him.
Everywhere we go we leave a wake behind us that impacts everyone we come in contact with. It can either be a wake that lifts people up, or a wake that sinks their ship. The example that I had the privilege to witness yesterday was one that is always focused on others. I hope you learn as much as I have from their example, so you can leave an “other’s focused wake.”
