The Holy Spirit is like a gentleman. When he receives a formal invitation, he will gladly enter. Where he is not welcome, he will politely stay apart. History has proven this time and time again. Nations that welcome his presence have risen to the top. These same nations, that later rejected him, were torn apart by their own corruption and greed. We have also seen this play out in Universities, Families and in Individuals.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:5-8
Many have tried to take on the world by their own wisdom and strength, not needing the assistance of the Holy Spirit. But history has proven that a branch can only bear fruit when it is connected to the vine. I pray that our nation and all of its people will invite the Holy Spirit to be with us, so that we may stay forever connected to the vine.
