My prayers go out to all of those impacted by hurricane Michael. We will be heading down today to assess the damage and lend a helping hand to our friends and family in need. As I prepare for this day I found some very appropriate scripture.
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
A natural disaster like this is a great reminder that many of our earthly gifts are fragile and temporary, but the Giver of those gifts is unchanging. We should enjoy our earthly gifts but never cling to them. We should rest in the knowledge that we are complete in our everlasting heavenly Father.
